Design Inspiration: Limestone Tile Made in Israel

For this Tahoe Donner remodel, we loved using limestone tile with inset LED lighting, giving the bathroom an amazing ambiance. For the double vanity, we repurposed all of the existing cabinetry, vertical grain Douglas fir, since it went with all of the millwork within the house so nicely. There was no reason to start over.

We installed new countertops and painted with a similar color to what we did in the bedroom, a rich dark brown called Otter Brown.

For the flooring, we chose a wood-looking tile with heated elements underneath, a real treat on your feet!

New polished nickel accent mirrors provided a bit of a challenge getting the full reflection with the faucet location and other logistics, so we designed a mirror on top of mirror look, installing first a full wall-to-wall then adding the decorative mirrors on top.

We completely remodeled the shower and water closet using the same limestone tile as the tub area. For the water closet, we added a mirror, doubling the light, making the whole bathroom look bigger. A floating shelf adds to the openness.

Finishing touches include window treatments by Conrad Window Treatments, subtle and beautiful, see through it in the day, but at night it gives plenty of privacy.
